Do you have a long version of how to help a cat fart? Or burp? I've got 2 cats with those needs...

Hmm I haven't had this issue with cats. There's got to be something that would help that. Just search the web for any foods or products that could help cats get rid of gas. Gut microbiome can get screwy in cats too and maybe that's why they're getting that. Hate to say it but bloat can be trouble for a cat to have so if they're having bloat symptoms and not able to fart or burp I'd certainly check with a vet or research possible problems for it.

I've actually taken to burping one cat over my shoulder like a baby. He seems to enjoy it and seeks my help. He'll reach his paw out to my face and jumps into my lap when he needs help. I've also rubbed around their bum holes (like they have to do for mules sometimes). It helps them a lot! Best long term seems to be giving them high quality vanilla yogurt every other day. My largest cat has been able to absorb more nutrients from the probiotics in the yogurt...and has cut his feeding down by a third. The yogurt and burping is relatively new. I've tried pumpkin and other stuff but nothing seemed to work. Oh! One other thing I've done is raise their food bowl so they don't swallow while their head is down. It has helped keep food dust out of their noses and swallowing is clearing their esophagus. Allergy season doesn't help.

In saying that about you burping him over your shoulder and him letting you know he needs it my first thought was... "He's pretending to get you to cater to his highness and fakes it so you'll pity hi." With three currently and cats for much of my life I can say if they like something and they know a way to get your pity to get something they'll do it. Of course I'm thinking of my Angora in that regard since they're well known for doing such things, too intelligent, mischievous and WAY too good of memories. You can stop doing something they like because they made it into a tyranny to begin with & years later they still try. Have they been checked for any ibd problems that would lead to such gas? I might research this as now I'm curious 🤣

Nah, my cat doesn't "work it" to get pity attention. He'll let me know when he doesn't want my help. When he was a kitten, he was attacked by a dog and I always thought the dog caused long term intestinal issues. He and his sister were then adopted by me and we worked really hard together to get them healed. He's the only one who barfs water. My two females rarely barf...and, then, only hairballs. So I worry about him.

That could be. Let me guess it was a freaking pit bull. Not always but too often. Combination of bloated gas issues and vomiting water suggests either and preferably some kind of ibd or a blockage. The struggle to pass gas and vomiting water are signs I hate to scare you with but he needs an x-ray to see the problem. It's very painful if it causes a total blockage and is lethal. I hate to cause fear but only saying it based on what you're telling me. Injury from dog attack could've narrowed the colon & a hairball is plugging him up. Our large cat recently had a hairball he couldn't get up 2 weeks ago & we thought sure it was goodbye. He vomited bile with blood. He got fluids at vet, nausea shot & appetite stimulant. He wasn't blocked but constipated & esophagus was irritated from his pre-hairball puke. Usually no more than 2 days & he poops them more often. Got some special hairball stuff for him. He's a Pica cat too with literal gigantism. We often adopt abused, abandoned, older etc.
