No doubt by now y'all have
heard about Herr Sourgrapes'
pissy little Trumper-tantrum
over AP journalists not
calling the Gulf of Mexico
"Gulf of America" being
shut down by the court. So yeah, as was predicted
following said tantrum, the
Königsratte's edict amounting
to requisite utterance of
a password before being
allowed access to his
speaksleazy was ruled
unconstitutional (by a
Trump-appointed judge,
no less) on grounds of
compelled speech. To wit:; “Under the First Amendment, if the Government
opens its doors to some journalists—be it to the
Oval Office, the East Room, or elsewhere—it
cannot then shut those doors to other journalists
because of their viewpoints. The Constitution
requires no less.”; Of course, Dear Leader still has
the option of appealing the
ruling prior to enforcement
until Tuesday of next week
-at which point the AP is
either allowed back or he
enters into direct, willful,
constitution-violative
conflict with the judiciary.
And, assuming the GOP portion of the SCOTUS 9
isn't fully corrupt, he'll get slapped down there too. Now about that sidebar; as you
may or may not be aware, the
state of Florida has fired
its first teacher for not
dead-naming a transgender
student per state law. Why
is this significant? Well,
simply put, FL HB 1069
compels speech as a
condition of public
employment. Sooo yeah... there'll be fallout
from the judge's ruling. And
you should probably expect
FL and every state with
a similar law on the books
to be hauled into court.
But hey, y'all voted for
"shake up the status quo"
and... well... you're getting it.
