That could be. I simply don't know.
But believe me, I'm very familiar with the airspace in the national capital area. I was part of continuity-of-government air operations for years. So I know the kids in that Black Hawk helicopter HAD NO FREAKIN' CLUE what they were supposed to be doing.
Here's another fun fact: if you're up in that airspace and you haven't been properly trained, the air traffic controllers most likely won't be able to save you. There are too many things happening too fast, with too much traffic, in too little airspace, as compared to normal operations elsewhere.
So I know adequate training and evaluation standards weren't being applied or provided for that crew. Guess why? Anyway, it means that if they hadn't crashed there, they'd have probably crashed somewhere else.
Yes, that's harsh, but there's the truth. As has been proven time and again, profound incompetence at the top of the federal government executive branch soon permeates EVERYTHING in government, civil and military.
