Chapter 3: Reunion (Featuring Shuri from the Huh_Neat series)

“Don’t worry Anne! Remember? It’s just Rizu, Milo, and some of their family coming over! You’ll be alright”
“Ok Dad.. thank you” she smiles, her father does as well.
“Now, I’m gonna start making dinner, when they arrive you can just play with Milo in your room.”
“Alright Dad, thank you!”
Saike walks to the kitchen, and Anne wanders to the backyard. A faint red light emanates from behind the shed. Anne walks towards the shed, wondering what it could be. She walks behind the shed and sees an insignia of hell, but has no idea of what it is. Curious, she inches closer and closer to it, until she’s right up to it. She looks behind her, then looks to the insignia, reaching out her hand to touch. As soon as she makes contact, she gets sucked through, into a swirl of reds and oranges. She eventually falls flat on her face. “Ow..”
She says, getting a hold of herself. As soon as she opens her eyes, she sees that she’s no longer home. A woman, draped in a cloak, rushes to her. “Oh my, are you alright?”
“Y- yeah.. where am I..?”
“Second sector.. now where are your parents?”
“I- I don’t know.. they aren’t here..”
The lady thinks for a moment.
“I- I n- need to get out of here!”
“Oh.. I’m.. sorry, there’s no getting out.. but, I know somewhere you could stay until your parents get here!”
“They’re coming?” “Yeah! Everyone does at some point. Come along.”
She helps her up, and holding her hand, begins to walk. Through the capital, multiple people look at the woman as if she’s royalty, wonder why that is? Her hood is still up, but when Anne looks at her, she can see her calm, and caring eyes. Exiting the capital, she sees the loads of tents in the distance. “Is that where you’re taking me?” “Yeah! I know someone really nice who can take care of you.”
“Oh.. ok..”
They walk through the outer walls of the encampment, and Anne sees multiple demons and some angels talking, working, and many other tasks. Death guides her through the crowd, until they come upon a large tent.

Anne peeks in after Death walks into it. She sees her talking to someone with their head on fire? How is that possible? Death motions to her to wait outside, but she can hear snippets of their conversation. “I know you already… She’s just a ki… please.. I can’t in good faith let her...”
Death eventually comes out.
“Come in.. what was your name?”
“Anne.”
“Well come in Anne.”
She does that and the person with fire on their head introduces themselves.
“I am Ember.. what’s your name?”
She’s crouches down to her, almost like Dad does sometime.
“I- I’m Anne.. you’re very warm..”
Ember chuckles.
“Thank you, Anne. Now, I’m sure you heard what’s going on from her multiple times, but I’m going to take care of you until she sees your parents come here.”
Anne nods, shyly. Death goes over to Ember and hugs her.
“Thank you…”
She then turns to Anne.
“Well, it’s time for me to go, I hope you two get along.”
“M.. me too..”
Death exits the tent, and disappears into the crowd. Anne turns back to Ember.
“Do you know how to fight, kid?”
“Uh.. kind of..”
“Show me what you got”
She guides Anne to behind the tent, where a beat up doll is strung up on a stick.
“Uh.. miss?”
“What is it?”
“Would you happen to have metal?”
“What.. do you mean?”
“M- metal.. anything would d- do..”
Ember thinks for a long minute, then goes back into the tent. Anne can hear rustling through multiple items, until Ember comes out with a lot of silverware.
“This good hon?”
“Yeah!”
Anne puts her hand out, and the silverware begins floating, and form into a sword.
“Whoa- so you can control metal?”
“Yup!”
The sword flings towards her, she grabs it, and runs at the doll. Over the course of the next year, she had been training under Ember, honing her powers, learning how to fight. She had been content with her life, but still thought about how Saike was. One day, though, she was training on a doll, the same on she had beat when she first arrived.

It’s much more raggedy than before, from the continuous training sessions over the year Anne’s been here. She slashes it again, and feels a hand on her shoulder, and it spins her around.

Saike, choking on his tears: A- Anne..
He hugs her, and holds her tight.
Anne: Dad?!
She hugs him back. Both of them are sobbing, finally finding each other. It take a little bit for them to compose themselves, but when they do, they stop hugging.
Anne: I can’t believe it’s you!
Saike: I thought you died!
Ember, seeing this, walks over to them.
Ember: What’s going on- oh.. wait I see the resemblance.. how did I not see it sooner?!
Saike: So what happened?
Anne explains what I just did I’m not rewriting it.
Saike: …I see.. I’m so sorry I didn’t want over you more Anne..
Anne: it’s okay! I met Ember so that’s an upside.
She smiles, showing her sharp teeth. Saike smiles as well, and Ember takes them into the tent.
Ember: Okay. I’m going to be straight to the point. We’re-
Anne: We’re gonna stop the war by killing Shochu!!
Ember: Anne.. hon.. let me explain to him.
Anne: Sorry..
Ember: Okay! Yeah, we’re going to kill Shochu to stop the war. BUT, there’s a problem. I assume you’ve met one of the divisions of the defiant order?
Saike nods: Hakri, and that guy who was one.
Ember: Uh huh. Shochu is strengthened when they are all living. So we aren’t going to kill them. After months of work, we found out if they’re all concealed by bramble it has the same effect. We’ve seen this because of Osukai, the guy in the bramble city. Shochus been weaker in battles since he had gone in there, so what we need you to do-
Saike: Me? Not anyone else?
Ember: I mean us.. but we need to knock out each one and cover them in bramble. Then we need to kill Shochu while he’s weakened.
Saike: I see..
Anne, who had migrated to Saike’s shoulders while they were talking: And I’m gonna help!
Saike, stung by fear: Why??
Anne: Because I want to help end the war so we can go home.. duh.

Saike: But you’re just a child, you shouldn’t fight in a war-
Anne shuts her father up: Dad, I’m ok, I’ve been training for a year, I’m strong enough to fend for myself.
Saike sighs, and gives into her demands.
Ember: first on the list is-
Victoria walks in: Hey Ember can we-
She looks up and at Saike.
Vanessa: AAAAAH WHY ARE YOU HERE-
Saike: Oh, Hi Vanessa. How have you been?
Vanessa: Fine.. I guess.. I assume you've joined the rebellion now..?
Saike: Yeah. Wheres Richard?
Vanessa: He's.. off fighting someone.. I can't stop him.
Saike: Well, maybe I could.
Vanessa: Please! He can't beat him.

Richard slashes at the demon with his sword, whos' hand morphs into a shield and blocks it. His other hand turns into a hammer, and he pounds Richard into the ground. Richard gets back up, and tries to pierce his armour, but his hand turns into a buckler, and he parries the pierce, stabbing him with a dagger hand, kicking him down, ripping out the blade. A woman sits, watching on her dog.
???: Why don't you just give up already?
Richard: Shut up! I can't ever forgive what you did to her!
He dashes around to the demons back, and tries to slash him from the back, but he grabs the blade with a vice grip hand, and crushes it, seemingly absorbing it into his hand. He then turns his hand into a huge mallet, and flings Richard away with a swing.
The woman, clapping: Good defence!
He looks back at her: Thank you, and who might you be?
She answers: Shuri, daughter of Satan himself.
???: Don Yoku, Third Division of the Defiant Order
Shuri: Wow, big title, huh? What are you doing around these parts?
Don Yoku: Just cleaning up some angels, what about you?
Shuri: Just.. clearing my head from my Dads monologues..
Don Yoku: I'm surprised you're coming here during the war.
She looks confused at that, and says: War? I'm sorry, I'm from a different part of hell could you fill me in?
He explains how heaven is at war with hell, over some reason he doesn't even know, only Shochu.

Shuri: Thats interesting.. since my dads starting a war too..
Don Yoku: Why's that?
Shuri: It's simple! He believes that the mortal realm needs a better ruler, he's going to take it over so that his section of hell merges with it!
Shuri stops explaining and points to behind Don Yoku, where Richard's running at him, sword in hand. Yoku grabs his sword, rips it out of his hand, and kicks him across the battlefield. He looks back at her.
Don Yoku: Sounds cool, I might join in if I have the time.
Shuri: Why that would be wonderful, thank you!
Don Yoku: Of course, no problem.
Shuri: I should really get going now.. I'll ask my Dad when we're invading, it should be soon, okay?
Don Yoku: Yeah, okay keep me tuned.
She leaves on her dog, Shadow, as Don Yoku sighs from hearing footsteps behind him.
Don Yoku: When will you ever lear-
Standing there is Saike, holding Kuroba.
Don Yoku: Oh, hello there, and you are?
Saike, smiling: Saike, and I heard you were beating Richard over there?
Don Yoku smiles as well: Oh, shit! You're his son, right?
His hand morphs into a sword.
Don Yoku: This ought to be fun.
He says, dashing at Saike, who blocks his attack, and dashes behind him, slashing at his back, which he blocks quickly with changing his other hand into a shield and spinning around to block it. Anne watches from the sidelines with Vanessa, who Saike told to watch Anne just in case. Richard walks over to them, raggedy from the fight he had participated in.
Vanessa rushes to him: Are you okay Richard??
Richard: Yeah.. I'm fine.. don't worry about it Vanny..
They go back to watching the two fight. Don Yoku changes his hand to a huge axe, and tries to bring it down onto Saike, who catches both sides of the blade in his hands, right before it hits his face. He kicks it away, and slashes at his chest with Kuroba. It hits, but in retaliation Don Yoku uses a hammer fist to punch him in the gut.

As Saike gets back up, Don Yoku says: Why don't we make this a little more interesting?
He jumps at Saike, makes a portal behind him, and punches him through it. Saike lands in somewhere familiar, a bar. Mark looks over the counter.
Mark: Hey Saike.
Saike: h..hey Mark..
Mark looks at the portal and looks back.
Mark: You need a drink?
Saike: I mean.. that would be nice..
Don Yoku jumps on Saike through the portal and punches him in the jaw, then picks him up and throws him across the bar.
Mark: HEY! No fighting in the bar! Get a drink or get out.
Saike and Don Yoku look at each other and looks back at Mark. Ten minutes later they're sitting at the counter, Saike drinking sake and Don Yoku drinking a tall glass of beer, using vice grip hands as delicately as he can.
Saike: So, whats your name?
Don Yoku: Don Yoku, Third division of the Defiant Order.
Saike: What does that mean? Defiant Order?
Don Yoku: It means you wasted your life to serve Shochu. Did you meet Hakri?
Saike nods.
Don Yoku: He was so desperate to be in a position of power he sacrificed his freedom to become fifth division of the Defiant Order. Nice guy before he did that..
Saike: Do you always have to sacrifice something to become a part of the Defiant Order?
Don Yoku: Yup, except I got a good sacrifice. My hands.
He clanks the vice grip hand together.
Don Yoku: The tradeoff was getting a metallic substance that can morph into any weapon I destroy. Hey bartender!
Mark: What?
Don Yoku: Do you have a knife that you don't care about?
Mark goes to a room and comes out with a worn down knife, and Don Yoku destroys it with the grip. It then forms into the old knife.
Don Yoku: See?
Saike, sipping his sake: Interesting.. you must've collected some strong weapons huh?
Don Yoku: Yup, but I'll let you see them in a minute.
He puts the beer glass down with some money.
Don Yoku, entering the portal: Just come out when you're ready.
Saike finishes his sake, puts down money, and goes back out.

Don Yoku is waiting and ready for him outside, with a great sword hand, and swings at Saike, who dodges under the blade and jabs Kuroba at him, which lands, and knocks Don Yoku back a little. He kicks Don Yoku in the chest, then punches him in the face, knocking him into a nearby building. He gets back up though, and rushes Saike with two dagger hands, which Saike dodges each jab, and gives him a kick in the face right when he has an opening Don Yoku switches his hands over and over again, getting more and more annoyed Saike dodges everything he throws at him. Finally, Saike Punches him straight in the face, and into another building. He waits for him to get up, but a faint blue light emanates from the rubble. Don Yoku arises from it, glowing blue with wings. He flies at Saike, grabs him by the neck, and flies him up high, and throws him down to the ground, smashing a crater around him. Saike tries to get up, but Don Yoku uses a hammer arm from the side to smack him up into the air, just to fly over and slam him back down into the ground. Saike grabs Kuroba and block his next hammer swing, jumps over it, and tries to slash him in the face, but he flaps back, and slams Saike mid-air with the hammer. He rolls onto the ground, but gets back up, bloodied and beaten. Don Yoku stands to the front of Saike, waiting for his next move. Saike stands opposite to him. Anne runs in yelling, and catches Don Yoku off guard, smacking him in the face with her sword.
Saike: ANNE!
Anne: Hey dad! Sounded like you were having a bad time, so I had to come in and help!
He grabs her and pulls her away from Don Yoku.
Saike, through his teeth: I told you to stay at the sidelines.
Anne: But you weren't winning.. so I had to help!
Saike: Anne, theres not really any ways you could-
He gets an idea.
Saike: I got it!

He whispers to Anne his plan, and Don Yoku sits, tapping his foot impatiently.
Don Yoku: You finished?
Saike: Yeah, yeah lets go.

He rushes him, jabbing Kuroba at him as fast as he can, Don Yoku tries to dodge, gets hit a couple times, but he makes his hand a mace, to swing at Saike. But it stays in place, and Saike slashes him across his chest, breaking his armour in that one cut. He flies up, and tries to raise his two hand swords to slash at him, but they stick together, he tries to separate them, but Saike jumps up and kicks him in the head, right into the ground. Anne puts her hand down, and the swords separate. Saike pokes Don Yoku with Kuroba, but the kick to the head had knocked him out.
Anne: Chihah! Take that!
Saike: Good job Anne.. thanks..
Anne: No problem Dad!
He throws Don Yoku over his shoulder, and carries him to the encampment.

Shochu slams his fist on his throne arm. Death winces, standing by his thrones side.
Shochu: He's killing the Defiant Order! I can't believe it!
Death: Are.. you sure he is..?
Shochu: Yes. Are you questioning my judgement, Death?
She hides her unhappiness, disagreeing.
Shochu: Good. Shikina went out to kill him as well. I doubt she will have a tough time.
Death stays silent.
Shochu: But if she does, you're going as well.
Death: Wh- what?!
Shochu: What?
Death looks him in the eye: My position is to collect souls and guide them to the afterlife! Not kill my own son-
He smacks her across the face with his scepter, making her fall to the floor. Blood drips from her cheek.
Shochu: Shut it. You do as I say.
Death gets back up, and stands next to him.
Death: Whatever you say..
