Adjusting the pupil shapes and proportions can work wonders, but I find this to work great

I only gave a tip specifically for the eyes, not the entire expression.

Here I am just using layers for tracing stuff I drew traditionally lol

I do that too, I just use the layers for easier shading lol

i still do traditional art (pencil n paper) so usually when I draw dilated pupils I just make them smaller than normal

it helps that i do it a lot for one of my characters in particular who happens to have some anger issues and is a Division-1 crashout so I've gotten decently good at it
