That's true if a heart is at room temperature, in which case that heart can only be torn.

But if you a freeze a heart with liquid nitrogen, you can hit it with a mallet and watch it break like glass. Scratch that-you can watch it shatter like glass.

No, I've never frozen organs, but I'm sure you can if you lower the temperature enough. So don't ask me to actually do it. I don't even like watching my blood drawn. When I go for a checkup and they take a sample of blood from a vein in my elbow to check my cholesterol level (among other things), I always look away.
