Man, I was checking your profile to see what comment was Alex55 answering in one of his memes, and... You know 1984 was written explicitly against all totalitarianism, right. Like Animal Farm was a parody of the russian revolution, but 1984 deliberately included parallels to both fascism and communism, as while communists may call themselves left wing, communist regimes are mostly just fascism with more red than green in the pictures.
1984 is not against totalitarian socialism, it's against totalitarianism, period.
Also, the book is kind of bad at carrying that message across, as the problems are very clearly cause by faith, not by totalitarianism per se, if you eliminate the figures of the eternal war and the big brother, 1984 would be a utopia ngl.
