As in you only like games that are really good

If anything, I HATE games that are generally considered really good. I call it “10/10 slop”

I have zero interest for The Witcher 3, The Last of Us, God of War, or Red Dead Redemption 2.

Yes, video games are art. But they’re also GAMES.

Those types of games get praised for being a 'cinematic masterpiece' which doesn't make sense to me. Not that they are bad games I wouldn't wanna play but why are they being treated like tv shows instead of games

I’m often suspicious when a game has universal 10/10’s even when it’s not a cinematic movie game.

Far Cry 3 was always considered the best game in the series, but when I played it all I saw was an Assassin’s Creed clone with an awful story.

Fallout New Vegas was a good game in its own right, but for 2010 it felt so dated. It might seem like a nitpick, but the lack of suspension when jumping gets to you after 10 hours.

Sonic Adventure 2 is a janky, bug-ridden mess and is a huge step backward from the first game. The chao garden is the major saving grace.

This doesn’t mean every 10/10 game is bad. I like Portal 2, Dark Souls, Vampire Survivors, and Halo CE.

I’m normally an elitist or purist when it comes to games I grew up with or am an expert at. Super Monkey Ball being a perfect example.

It’s not that I think people should only play them a certain way, but that the games should only be made in a certain way otherwise they’re fundamentally crippled. Super Monkey Ball with bad physics is like Call of Duty with bad shooting.

But I do enjoy almost every genre. There are a few I have no interest in (like RTS or hero shooters), and some genres have very few good games in them (open world, stealth), but that doesn’t mean I’ll only stick to a few games forever. I like branching out.
