Why don't you want people to be happy

Where are you getting this from?

Okay I get it. You want people to be happy, unless it has to do with faith or religion.

So you're going to attempt another strawman?

That's one of the main reasons people have religion, to be happy
Who are you helping by attacking religion in the form of pictures on the internet

People are lying to themselves. Sure, it makes them feel better when they lose a loved one and think they're in a better place, but it's not true.

I'm tired of people in power making decisions based on a collection of fairy tales.

It's an atheist stream, I'm going to post about what I believe.

You can't be talking, your bible literally claims to have always existed, be with god, and be god. (John 1:1)

No, it's a reference to Jesus

Maybe your eyes don't work. The comment that I responded to said, "That's one of the main reasons people have religion, to be happy" So yes, religion is just a coping mechanism for people who can't fathom facts or logic.

Buddy do you really think that millions of people being punished when they could stop it. Makes me feel better?

It's sad that you put fake responsibilities on yourself and then claim you have difficulty because of them.

Maybe ask yourself, "Why is my god such a petty dictator and why do I follow it?"

Hint: A god who kills millions of its creations because they exercised free will is not a god worth your time.

I'd be mad at my creations who excessive their free will to if I were a god and my creations did the one thing I told them not to do
0 ups, 2mo
So, worship/following god is optional? Then why create a place specifically to torment those who don't? If your god needs praise, but only because he "thinks it's cool if people worship him", why should he be bothered by others rejecting him?

As stated already, your god claims to be omniscient and omnipotent. If those things were true, predestination would also be true. You can't claim people have a choice/free will if you already know exactly how their life will play out while also having the ability to change that path.

An omnipotent being has no reason to make others work.
0 ups, 1mo
You must be ragebaiting at this point. Nobody can be this dense.

One being knowing all future events while having the power to change them is not compatible with free will.

Guessing someone's actions is nothing like omniscience.

I feel like I'm talking to a bot some high schooler made for a homework assignment.

You CANNOT have a creator with omniscience and omnipotence and say its creation has free will. Knowing everything about someone's future and claiming they have a choice does not work. If you add omnipotence to it, it's even worse because that being has the power to make people in any way it wants while knowing what will happen to it even before it's made.

Christians keep denying double predestination, but that's the only answer if they also claim god is all-powerful and all-knowing.

Because an omniscient being already knows the outcome of each person's life. An omniscient being cannot be fooled, because that would contradict its very existence.

So if he does have the ability to change outcomes, why doesn't he? Why isn't everyone in the world Christian? Because your god is fake.

(You've got to stop acting like you made a solid argument after each response. You aren't, and it just looks sad when you're repeating the same things over and over without thinking of a decent response.)
0 ups, 1mo
Because being a Christian requires having genuine faith in and love for God.
Maybe the reason I repeat stuff is because you won't listen when I say it the first time, or the second time, or the third.

If your god knows how we will use our free will, that's not free will.

You cannot have free will if everything is already planned out.
0 ups, 1mo
He doesn't plan it out, he just knows what we will choose
Can't you know what someone ypu know will choose when given options based on who they are? In the same way, couldn't someone who CREATED you know what decisions you will make in life, even though it's STILL FREE WILL?
0 ups, 2mo,

If your god knows exactly how someone's life will play out in a way that sends them to hell, it's not free will. You god claims to create humans, but he knows which people will be sent to hell before they do anything.

If an omnipotent being knows something will end up badly, it will end up badly, and there's no way around that. There is no way for that outcome to change, so it's not free will.

If anything, you're the one not listening. I've been explaining how omnipotence and omniscience cancel out free will in several responses.
0 ups, 1mo
It may sound strange to you, but in a way, we determine our predetermination. God knows what we will use free will for.
Free will is simply the ability to do choices, which we can do whether you like it or not, even though God knows which choice we will make. You're just trying to make excuses for why you deserve heaven just in case God is real. Please stop.

If your god claims omniscience and omnipotence, it's not up to the person, it's up to god. You can't blame someone for a predetermined outcome.
So your god is an insecure, needy being that needs love from "sinful" beings to be complete?
0 ups, 2mo
Nah, he just thinks it's cool if people worship him (people were made in God's image, that's why we like praise too)
Also, it's not predetermined, unless you're a Calvinist.
And God is omnipotent, he can put whatever responsibilities he wants on people (people are lucky for what he decided isn't up to humans)

It's not free will if everything is predestined (which it would be since you claim your god is omniscient and omnipotent)

So you're saying god doesn't know everything? ("you can't 100% know what they will choose")
0 ups, 2mo
He knows what people will choose, but it's still free will. Unless you speak against Calvinist Christianity, your point is invalid, As God doesn't determine it (even though he could,) he simply knows how people will exercise their free will, even though it's their choice. Can you not let that go in one ear and out the other?
0 ups, 1mo
Why can't his knowledge of your fate and how your life will play out change? Why can't his infinite knowledge database be altered by him? And if you say "no, he can't do that", of course he can, he's omnipotent. There. There's your answer. You're welcome.
0 ups, 2mo,

You claim your god is omniscient (all-knowing), so why even create humans in the first place if you knew they would do those things and "force" you to punish them?

If a god is omniscient and omnipotent, there would be no atheists. According to you and your bible, your god is loving and merciful, yet he refuses to save people. A god with those abilities would be responsible for its creation since it knows which beings are in danger of eternal punishment.
0 ups, 2mo
And no, He gives plenty of opportunities for people to be saved (which they don't take)
And if you're wondering why He gave us free will, it's because he didn't want robots to love Him, but he wanted people to love him out of the love of their own heart
0 ups, 2mo
If you give something free will (their decision) sure, you know what they're probably going to choose, but it's still free will, and you can't 100% know what they will choose

Redditors don't have several hundred years of forcing parents to leave their kids alone with them with the promise of "eternal life"

Your confirmations (and churches) are literally child grooming businesses.

Correction: your confirmations and churches would literally be child grooming businesses if they groomed children instead of telling them about God

Churches DO groom children (adults too).

Churches have a long history of pastors and priests molesting children.

Churches have been convincing people that they need to follow a religion to prevent eternal torture in hell. Churches do this by making children fear eternal death at a young age, which stays ingrained in their minds into adulthood.

No sane adult would believe the things you believe; that's why churches start the process at a young age when possible.

Not like public schools brainwash children by telling them possibly false information at a young age too in any way, shape, or form, at all.

You remind me of the kids in my old school who would cover their ears and say, "LALALA" when Bill Nye said anything about evolution.

So you'd rather teachers tell kids, "There's a man in the sky who wants to send you to hell after you die, but he killed his son/self so that your soul won't be tortured for eternity."?

Go touch people's feet or something to follow some dead carpenter's example.
