There was ONE beautiful note that I had to play as a solo in the French horn section. The piece sounded so much better when it was played. But I eventually gave up and just pretended it wasn't on the score. Eventually, I begged first chair to play it for me because that one single note was perfection in the score. Just ONE note...that's all I had to play. My fear kept me down.
