well again, as wildly inaccurate. your claim has always been true of some children, but not the majority. and again you're trying to blur the primary responsibility to the Dept. many conservatives don't see the net value in education of the country, even when educators and industry tells them, and even when major lessons like Covid happen on an increasingly frequent basis. politicians have wanted to do away with the Dept before, but they were mostly college-educated and knew the benefits of it. so instead of telling that truth, they say things like the Dept hasn't elevated education in the US. they know that education would deteriorate without some national organization, but to them the important thing is re-election.
if you want better education in the US, you should do what the people who really care do: go in and do the job, often for low pay and little financial support under stressful conditions.
