maybe you could do multiple icons unlocked at a time sometimes but other times it’s just one kind of like Mario Kart Tour’s Tour Gift system

currently it works in color sets
so there's a swirl icon but it comes in 5 different colors and you unlock them at the same time

most other icons have the same 5 colors as well
although there are some unique ones that unlock separately and are not necessarily part of a color set
