so? finding racist humor funny does not make you an actual racist. the best thing about roast humor is that no one is safe. By having all these "protected communities" and trying to ban any jokes about anyone that was victimized once upon a time, you destroy roast comedy. If you don't like roast comedy, just say that. But a lot of people seem to be fine with being actually racist toward one group of people while being so offended at the concept of it towards other groups of people that they can't even take jokes. Actual racism would be to treat people differently because of their skin color, or not hire them, or give them a hard time at work, or a myriad of other things. Making stereotypical jokes isn't actually racism.

If it were up to me, we'd stop looking at race altogether. However, the same people trying to ban racial humor are the same people who happen to make absolutely everything about race and only view the world through the lens of "minority vs the white man". They're the ones keeping racism alive. And yet they try to censor humor about it. Because they're a bunch of hypocrites.

yeah for years a lot of social media managers took down stuff they found offensive. Even youtube, which was very much not on the side of that for a long time, started doing it a couple of years ago. Someone literally tried to get a Dragon Ball parody taken down because it contained some words people don't like hearing post 2020. I know all this because several videos i have watched for years have been taken down. Heck, people have to censor words on youtube and twitch now.

also, when it comes to humor, not everyone likes the same kind of humor. some people like Will Ferrell type humor, which is a bit childish, but people still like it, whereas others despise it. Obviously some people find Amy Schumer funny even though imo (and a lot of other people's opinions) she hasn't said a funny thing in her life. Point being, some people like certain styles of comedy above others. And no one should decide that you don't have the right to appreciate a certain type of humor. If they don't like it, they don't have to watch it. But to take it down so others can't enjoy it is extremely annoying.
And if social media mods really cared about the well-being of their users, they'd ban porn, which destroys millions of lives. But they make billions not to, so they won't.

but often times comedy is offensive. we can't handle that in today's culture, but that's always been the case throughout history. This is why our "comedians" nowadays are Amy Schumers and Seth Rogens or Will Ferrells. When you ban types of comedy, it just starts getting predictable. Nowadays most comedy is just "oh damn, whoops i slept with a dumbahh... again". It's boring and predictable when everything just becomes a sex joke and that's the only humor acceptable.

Take msmg for example. We were always freaky but when the mods started banning everything, EVERYONE got extremely freaky. Cause it was the only humor allowed. The only funny thing allowed became the wildest "hear me outs". What is that going to do to a generation? We'll have a generation of people with the most wild fetishes imaginable because it starts off as a joke and becomes real (because fetish jokes often can become real).

Comedy needs diversity too.
