I wake up in a hospital bed and instantly study my surroundings. I'm in the hospital wing of the college but a sharp, excruciating pain in my arm makes me lie down again. The firebrand is in a box next to me, and-
"Carl, take it easy." I look at Cheese, who is infront of me. "A lot has changed since you fell. It's been 10 years now. The college is a school now, and your friends are probably at their jobs. Carl, welcome to 2035."
I think for a bit.
"Can I please get water, I feel dehydrated.." I ask.
She gives me a bottle. I chug it.
"So, what do you want to do now? Explore the new world? Learn how-"
"Bullshit." I retort. "It's still March 2025. It's only been one day. Turn off the pain meter by the way. Im not paralized."
"...How..?" Cheese stutters. She looks impresed.
"The neck of the bottle shows the day it was made. As for the fake paralyze thing, I knew it wasn't real as soon as I twitched my leg."
"Okay Sherlock Holmes, how did you realize we were still in the college?"
"The architects are stupid."
"Fair.." She thinks a bit. I tear through the bandages, grab the firebrand and start to make an exit.
"Wait, Carl," Cheese stops me. "Shouldn't we discuss your new problems?"
"I have memory loss."
"How did you.."
"The bandages on my head, I have not removed. It doesn't take an Einstein to realize the healing bloody gash in it."
I walk away, leaving Cheese dumbfounded.
