And those people should get the psychological help and support they need to identify what makes them feel bad, and separate that from their gender to stop them from hating their body, and address those issues. Everyone, and I mean everyone, has had psychological issues they need help with (whether they realize that or not), and they should have access to a professional to help them sort out their psychology in a healthy way that leads to happiness and self acceptance, not mutilation.
Gender roles are patterns, not rules. Let boys wear pink and play with barbies if they want to. Let girls wear blue and play with GI Joes if they want to. Real progress comes from realizing these are merely patterns and not rules. You can just be who you are, like what you like, without it meaning anything about your body. Your gender just means your biology works a certain way and you are more likely to be attracted to the opposite gender. Everything else is up to you, and that gives you a lot of freedom.
Your identity should not be so firmly attached to your gender or your body, and if something causes that, you should have someone who can help figure out why (in a supportive manner), and how to help you base your identity on the contents of your soul, and not on the contents of your body.
And I mean real psychological help, not one of those atrocious and unscientific "conversion therapies"
