But do you know the alternate Doctors? In the 1965 movie "Doctor Who and the Daleks" & 1966's "Daleks: Invasion Earth 2150A.D." Peter Cushing played the only Doctor who wasn't a Time Lord. He was a human scientist with the surname Who. He bought an old police box & turned it into a time machine. In the 1974 stage play "Seven Keys to Doomsday" Trevor Martin portrayed a Fourth Doctor Who is very different from Tom Baker. A quite serious Doctor, who felt a responsibility to keep the universe safe. "The Curse of Fatal Death" was an officially sanctioned parody to raise money for charity in 1999. Rowan Atkinson is the 9th Doctor for most of the story, but then starts having a series of stupid accidents & regenerates repeatedly. The 10th through 13th doctors are: Richard E. Thinking about it, Rowan Atkinson has parodied Doctor Who twice. The Black Adder saga ended with a TV movie called "Blackadder Back and Forth." In that one, the Edmund Blackadder of 1999 wants to trick his friends into thinking he's invented a time machine. He hires a local jack of all trades (& master of none) named Baldrick to build a fake one. Unfortunately this Baldrick is such a bumbler he accidentally builds a real one. Before he knows it the clever Blackadder & his less intelligent companion are wandering through time & space in a box shaped ship that they can't really control.
