A lot of people do go into debt because they go to the college they want, not the one they can afford. Also, people like to get a degree even if they don't wanna know what job they want. If you wanna be a surgeon, you'll have to go to college. But a lot of other jobs don't need you to go to college, you can just go to trade school or learn your skill at home.
And being in tens of thousands of dollars in debt PLUS having huge interest rates is something that should be avoided at all costs. Debt is really hard to get out of and causes a lot of stress
