I know it's unlikely anyone from the Congressional
GOP is going to see this meme, but there are
things that need to be said so if you're looking,
pay attention. Trump's a f***-up and your
constituents were fed up with him by the end of
his first term. Unfortunately, the GOP hoi polloi's memory
doesn't work all that well so after four years
of Biden working to straighten out the steaming
turd of an economy Trump left behind, Trump
pounding them with a steady stream of lies that
everything was terrible despite the numbers
demonstrating otherwise, they proudly walked
into the polls and made the same mistake again. Of course, we're all watching as Trump's
not only picking up where he left off but
accelerating his agenda of wrecking the U.S.,
making himself El Presidente Eterno. More
importantly, your constituents are seeing it
too. And after just a few weeks of his sh*t-
show administration, they're starting to
remember why they put Biden over the top
in 2020. You guys have had a taste of your voter
base's displeasure what with those rough
Town Halls; you can lie to yourselves,
Trump's cult, insist it's just democrat
infiltrators trying to start trouble. But
facts are facts; old school, hardline
republicans are who watched Trump
fumble around on the world stage last
time, make an ass of himself siding with
petty authoritarians, murderous dictators,
autocrats. Old school, hardline republicans
are who watched Trump push quack
medicine, conspiracy theories, Russian
disinformation, science denialism. And now, those same old school, hardline
republicans are watching as he issues
illegal, constitution-violative Executive
Orders, pushes bad trade policies, screws
over America's farmers *again,* sics Elon
Musk on federal offices, allows him to
wreck the bureaus holding his companies
to account, screws with entitlement
programs they paid into their whole working
lives with the understanding those programs
would be there for their retirements. Those same old school, hardline republicans
are watching as Trump usurps Congress'
power of the purse, makes a mockery of
the separation of powers, defies court orders,
r-pes the very essence of what makes our
three-branched government the best one on
Earth, sides with an invading aggressor over
our allies, repeats Russian state media
propaganda. And they're watching as you guys
okie-doke it all, ignore your Oaths, abdicate
your duty to the Constitution, to the U.S. So you're cowed by Trump's standing threat
to back a primary candidate instead of you if
you don't fall in line, afraid to do your job for
fear of losing favor, power? Okay... what do
you think will happen if your base mobilizes
against you because you didn't do your sworn
duty? So you're afraid the MAGA nutjobs might
come for you in the middle of the night if
you reboot your spines and stand up to our
burgeoning, homegrown dictator-in-waiting?
That's always a possibility. Of course, the
MAGA nutjobs are turning against Trump as
they continue to awaken, realize they're not
getting the Redhat Paradise they were
promised and instead are landing face first
in exactly the financial, economic hellscape
they were warned against and voted into being
anyway. And maybe it's just me, but it seems like if
the Crazy Caucus, those people waking up,
the same people who got so worked up over
a fiction, something they couldn't even prove
that they laid siege to the Capitol, assaulted
police, the same people who see themselves
as Uncle Sam's to-the-bone ride-or-die pique
your concern, then what they're likely to do in
in a PBR-fueled paroxysm in response to your
readily visible inaction should be an even
greater source of fear. Obviously, it's up to you; the real, old
school republicans who consistently
show up to vote, who hold your continued
place in office in their hands aren't happy
with you. The MAGA nutjobs can easily
find out where you live and no matter what
you do, it's going to piss some of them off. So what are you going to do -continue to
be spineless cowards, stay the traitorous
course or do the job for which you swore
an Oath, live up to the flag-waving, red-
white-and-blue, dyed in the wool patriot
image that got you elected?
