Microsoft incorporates CoPilot into the Edge browser, but you're not obligated to use it and can easily ignore it. Google, on the other hand, is worse than Microsoft. Google pumps your search queries into Google Gemini every time you use the Google search engine whether you want it to or not (unless your search is too edgy for Google Gemini).
