Charles Spurgeon had some good sermons in his early years as well but was a hardcore Calvinist early on. He was raised in it by parents who didn't mean harm but were indoctrinated themselves. Like a shattered glass can't hold water and a shattered heart can't receive love, neither can a person comprehend doctrines they weren't taught. He was taught 5 point Calvinism throughout his entire childhood & really thought it was absolute & didn't mean harm. He started very young & god cleaned up the internal areas that were saturated with this understanding & then he began to see some good real fruits coming from professed Arminians & some bad fruit coming from professed Calvinists & realized the truth. Reformed leaders won't tell you this either. I've personally read many sermons by him & he likely ended at no more than 3 point.
