Proverbs 1:7 (NIV):

We should not turn our eyes from what is before us. Whether we like it or not, religion has been thrust into politics. That's a fact. It has been used as both a weapon and shield by both sides. I would not expect this behavior from any politician. Why do we give him such exception to refer to Children of God in this way who are only following their oath to God and his teachings? We are better than this, all of us.
