What a great picture of Lady Liberty getting hit by lightning. I wonder how many times she has gotten hit over the years.

It happens often because the copper is a conductor.
This particular photo looks like a lightning strike—but it wasn’t actually a direct hit. It just appears so because of where the photographer was standing.
