Yeah, because the nation should change its entire culture over the outlier genetics of one millionth of one percent of the nation's population.

are you completely unaware of the fact that 1 in 400-650 live born babies have sex chromosome abnormalities? do you know how many babies are born every day in america? globally?? over 10,000 and 360,000, respectively. klinefelter syndrome is the most common sex chromosome disorder... and that's not even if you consider the ~50-75% of people who never get diagnosed. so, no, it isn't in "one millionth of one percent of the nation's population," you're less likely to meet an ambidextrous person than you are to meet an intersex person, and that's just in the united states. and i'm not telling the nation to "change its entire culture," i'm just pointing out a flaw in certain arguments. get off my ass, man 😭

Sorry, the "Y" chromosome determines the male sex regardless of sex chromosome abnormalities. While a person can live who has only one "X" (Klinefelter's), or a duplication of "X" and "Y" chromosomes (other syndromes listed), a fetus conceived with only a "Y" Chromosome is non-viable.

sorry, i never said sex chromosome abnormalities that include "y" didn't make someone male. the argument i am criticizing is that you *must* have xy chromosomes to be male, and you *must* have xx chromosomes to be female, which is not true.

The presence or absence of the Y chromosome regardless of its duplication, or regardless of the duplication or deletion of the X Chromosome determines whether the person is male or female. This is the common understanding in biology. While XX and XY are the norm it does not mean that people with sex chromone anomalies are 'their own sex', (which you seem to be inferring). i also infer you would to use this argument to justify trans or non-binary genders which have no standing in hard science.

sry is the sex-determining gene, dude. even if someone has xx chromosomes, they'd be considered male !!!GENERALLY SPEAKING!!! if the sry gene is present. and i'm not saying people with sex chromosome abnormalities are their own sex? i'm very aware abnormalities are just biological traits. so, no, that is not what i'm inferring. i am very appreciative of you not assuming, though. and i wouldn't use this argument for trans or non-binary identities, only because i find sex irrelevant to gender... and gender is not, and will never be, biological. the only 'hard science' behind gender is both in terms of gender roles and gender biases.

aberrations sometimes occur in nature
