If you have a job you are working for everyone. Ultimately your employer works for everyone and you help your employer. That means you’re working for everyone.
In capitalism anyone can get the resources to start a business. All you need to do is save some money or get some people to invest in it. That makes it impossible to have a few people (like a workers’ council) directing the use of them. To the contrary outlawing private business hurts everyone by limiting consumer choice.
Also you keep saying “everyone helps out” but you ignore that the same greed and selfishness you say drives capitalism will still be present in communism. Not everyone is going to “help out.” Most will find a way to avoid working. How would you ensure that everyone “helps out?” Ship them off to labor camps? Set quotas for production?
Considering that some people have food allergies I would prefer the consumer choice over mandated sameness for free. Who knows your needs better? Someone on a council that determines what and how much you eat, or you personally?
I’d rather have my personal freedom than have anyone, especially a child tell me what I can have. You keep showing how your utopia is dependent on an absolute dictatorship to make it possible.
You say it won’t involve sacrificing lives but you’re willing to sacrifice the lives of people already. Why should I trust you won’t sacrifice the lives of elderly people to save resources for those who can produce?
I REFUSE TO WORK FOR SOMEONE WHO WOULD MAKE A PROFIT OFF ME. YOU’RE LOOKING AT IT WRONGLY. YOUR EMPLOYER ISN’T MAKING A PROFIT OFF YOU. YOU’RE HELPING HIM BETTER SERVE THE CONSUMERS.
