Fun Fact; the DoJ estimates that over 10,000 dogs are killed by police in the US every year. I don't know why their greatest concern is immigrants eating pets while they ignore actual statistics.

I think because actual statistics are a) challenging for them, and b) rarely support the points they want to make.
