quick rant; why do they call the 1900s the 20th century... and the 2000s the 21st century?? Wouldn't it make more sense to.. name them not one number ahead. Correct me if there is a logical explantion to it.

There is a logical explanation. 0-99 A.D. is the 1st century, so 100-199 A.D. is the second century and so on until 2000-2099 is the 21st century.
