Disabling comments is that person's choice. It's no different than Elon Musk censoring people he hates.

I have never disabled comments on any of my posts because I find the comments interesting. However, I can also see why people would disable them because they have been bullied and harassed in past posts.

I could be wrong, but I don't usually see comments disabled when someone has an opposite opinion, it's usually because of the rudeness of the commenters.
