Chicken Little has been threatening me with this since 1974. Fifty years later and I am receiving my SS with no problems. Insolvency will not disrupt my benefits any more than a deficit closes the Pentagon. They should remove the earnings cap above which additional SS is not withheld. They should also purge the illegal aliens who didn't pay into the system, and they need to separate the programs for disability and poverty. The SS retirement system should be only based upon earnings taxed, period. Only those who paid in should receive benefits, keep other programs away.
