Also, even if it was free, Starlink is a dangerous idea for a few reasons, first of all, they can obscure the view of telescopes, which can be dangerous as it can stop us from avoiding NEOs, and also, elon is putting stones in his own road, like a network of satellites is all fine and dandy until one breaks down, switches trajectory and hits another one and... yk, we have zenbonsakura around the earth. That's called collisional cascade. And even if elon has every satellite perfectly controlled, he'd have to also keep in check obsolete dead satellites and the copycats that would more than likely appear.
