You very well might be right.
But for the time being, the Iranians are fleeing from Syria. The Russians too. That's some good news, by any measure.
It might be overly optimistic, but there's a chance the new government in Syria might align with Saudi Arabia more than Iran. If that happens, that's definitely good news. But that play depends on what the Saudis do in the next few weeks.
Time will tell. But the Assad regime was one of the world's most evil. In my book, good riddance.
