It's about people getting mad at other people based on who they voted for. The tip part of the meme is what democrats have been saying to republicans. Trump supporters have been saying extremely hateful things since before the election. Now, democrats are yelling back. Its all getting very old.

From transformingsociety.co: Radical right politicians use emotions to gain political support. They present themselves as the political force that protects the people from the negativity of ‘the Left’ and ‘liberals’. Individuals, prone to feeling shame, humiliation and resentment in their everyday life, may be particularly drawn to such rhetoric.

The radical right politicians, coming from different national contexts, are adopting an emotional narrative that invokes shame and pride in order to garner political support. Increasingly numerous research studies in recent years have pointed to the role of emotions, such as fear, anger and resentment...

The rise of shared narratives of shame and pride in the radical right rhetoric is part of a broader emotional regime, which functions by creating affective solidarity within a given community...

From therapist-corner: The adaptive reaction to shame is withdrawal, a wish to disappear so as to protect oneself from shaming by others and to protect them from contamination by one’s badness. The defensive reaction to shame is rage against that which one feels is the cause of one’s shame.

Those are good articles. Thanks for sharing. I can attest that the backwoods people in my community take great pride in their criminal and unhealthy behavior: to the point they attack those unlike themselves. They take pride in being unhealthy, even pride at losing all their teeth. While working with them, I came to understand their emotional triggers and sorrows of their past. Sorrow is a HUGE burden. I became involved with getting information out to rural America this election season because I didn't want them to be manipulated in their sorrow. Trump manipulated them. But...there is a point when they chose to participate. I go even further to see it as a spiritual battle.

Spiritual in a holarchic sense, I agree. I look at it as a dysfunctional culture trying to survive. And my use of "dysfunctional" is based on something I heard, defining a functional system as serving the people in it, whereas in a dysfunctional system the people serve the system. (I realize that definition has a bit of a bias towards Individualism.)

There are three parts: body, mind, spirit. Spirit could be the energy. Soul is different and relies on the other three.

Yeah, I've heard that, but I haven't heard definitions exact enough for me to differentiate between the three, so I don't. I don't believe there's a difference between "soul," "mind," and "body."

That interesting. It's like saying you can't differentiate between head, torso, limb. I'm sorry.

I don't think that's an appropriate analogy. Neurons extend throughout the body, and it's been found that memories can be stored outside the brain. Gut bacteria have been found to influence our emotions. There's also a theory that quantum entanglement may be involved in consciousness. Science really hasn't discovered the limits of "matter" (a.k.a. "energy"), so I'm not convinced it can be accurately defined as separate from consciousness, and the same with "soul."

What do you mean by the word "soul," exactly?

Your definition of the word.

Was it a conversation? I wish there were meaningful conversations rather than debates and temper tantrums.

You know that mere definitions do not provide knowledge. experience can lend wisdom. Do you not have experience of soul? Have you not experienced mystical events. You are a multidimensional being who believes he lives a one dimensional existence. How could I possibly convince you of soul by a definition? For you have not even convinced yourself of the meaning of intellect of mind. Mind cannot be defined in one reply. Have you watched the movie "What the bleep Down the Rabbit Hole" or read books on out of body experiences? There is much that requires looking beyond a two way mirror.

Fine, you tell me what I believe and don't tell me what you believe. "Conversation" over.
