Yeah, originally it was Bill Gate's entry into cable news but then he decided that the leftists he hired from top to bottom were too extreme for his company's image at the time and so he sold his half of it to NBC.

Then eventually Comcast bought NBC with MSNBC being thrown in with the deal. But it turns out that BOTH NBC and MSNBC are now losing money hand over fist and so Comcast is finally cutting MSNBC loose and is probably now deciding if they want to even retain the money pit called NBC News.
