ReichenBACK ponders about the hobbies that some people do, as he expresses his thoughts to a website full of mentally ill people, the mentally ill people try to reason it out.
"something more productive" it's for fun not for being productive
things you do for fun usually are not productive
and making an OC is fun and not unhealthy unless there's something inherently bad about it like making it sexual
so does that first part
who do you think cares if they're being productive
do you think that if I was playing half life 2 or something I care about productivity
i wasnt really targeting that i was mostly focused on the part where people do it obsessively and make it too unreal adding too much trauma and sexualizing it,that type shit
what about for dnd characters? Me and some buddies are running a campaign that will prolly last 4 years, so I wrote like a short novel Abt my characters backstory over like 4 months
plus the fact that some give it loads of trauma. You,re telling me that this little child was raped and tortured?Nah.And i dont think its necessary to make many, its not like you're gonna use them all.
If you’re going to give it trauma at least make it actually affect the character and make them have interesting changes from it instead of just “yeah i’ve been through all hell and have outlived and seen the deaths of everyone, but i’m actually just a silly lil goober :P!!!)
Like what I did with Cory
Dude lived with an abusive father, ran away at 13 years old, and turned to weed to cope
Then he met Lian, who eventually helped him out of his slump and helped him get his life back on track
why do people even make OCs; i personally would find something more productive rather than giving it lore that is 10 pages long and unrealistic features.Surely,i get some consider it a hobby but obsessively and continiously making such is a bit unhealthy dont you think?
