(Nah, I'll do my OC if that's alright. As for fitting it in, the way you worded it sounds almost Great Schism-ish, except with the Prophets instead of just the Brutes. So, to fit my Spartan in, I'm thinking a "wrong place right time" scenario. In other words, he came here for a totally different reason, but ended up getting roped into the conflict)

*not prophet, but rather elites. the covenant is the Imperium of Sanghelios, which is pretty xenophobic and was doing a great crusade before one primarch fell to the influence of the flood.*

Alright. I'll start in another thread. My OC is an ONI SPARTAN-III named Alexander-A119. He is a Lieutenant Colonel.

Alexander sat in the corner of a dimly-lit cave, tightening the bolts on his handgun. He had been good and lost for two days, and not a word from his squad. He assumed the worst, but still held out a small shred of hope.

Hos concentration was interrupted by the sounds of fighting outside.

*outside the screams of men can be heard, and they slowly die down. but the gunfire and roars of dying astartes doesn't stop. unbeknownt to alex, the White scars Sangheili Astartes were turning on the Emperor's Children loyalists for reasons he didnt yet know.*
Alexander: What the hell....are they really killing themselves at mombasa?
*Just then, a White Scars traitor walks in, chainsword at the ready*
White Scars Traitor: BLOOD FOR THE PARASITE! SKULLS FOR THE GRAVEMIND!

*p.s. just to confirm, the cave is a cave of rubble created when a sangheili god-engine was destroyed by UNSC forces*

*He parked the bike a mile or so off and attempted to contact the UNSC in the reserve.*

*only static is present, the death guard set up a jammer in a makeshift outpost.*

*He grunted and ran overland to try and reach the reserve.*

*quickly noticed by a death guard pack, they close in. one shouts out "N'varat eeo!"(For the Emperor) as he shoots off a few bolts in his way. they miss and Alex is hit by one, knocking him over, draining his shields, and forcing him to take cover.*

*He ducks behind a nearby boulder, slamming a magazine into his rifle.*

*One of the astartes aims while inserting a krak grenade into his combi-bolter, ready to shoot. unbeknownst to him (the space marine), his life was about to end.*

*He waited and observed.*

*at this moment, a few shots rang out as the gene-warrior shot back and killed the battle-brother*

*He continued running towards the reserve.*

*He sprung up quickly, raising his gun and firing three shots before sinking his knife deep into the Sangheili's shoulder.*

*the traitor bellowed in pain as he lost all feeling in his arm. He raised his bolter, now with signs of flood biomass on it and a skull, and pointed at at alexander. the shot would have stripped the spartan of his shields, but it missed due to requiring two hands to aim right*

*He removed the blade from the lifeless flesh and made his way out of the cave.*

(Is Alex using UNSC armaments, or a 40k-ish version of them? His usual loadout is a BR-55 Battle Rifle and an M6D Magnum, with a serrated Kunai knife and two UNSC frag grenades)

*Meanwhile outside were the lifeless bodies of the emperor's children, purple blood painting the streets and walls. many were dead, but there was one, barely breathing.*

*He approached and administered a medical stim, just to keep him awake.*

"What has happened?"

"......I dishonor myself by answering a xeno.....but i must warn you.....The white scars suddenly started shooting us....i thought them battle-brothers, but they proved us wrong. they fell upon us in waves.......berserkers at the front....more experienced at the back..........We are doomed......"
*with that, the Emperor's Children legionary drew his last breath and died.*

(Wait, weren't the Emperor's Children the Traitors? I thought the White Scars were Uber good guys)

(just to confirm, in this heresy the would be traitors are loyalists, and the would be loyalists are traitors. except sons of horus and imperial fists, they didnt change. think of it like the dornian heresy in a way.)

*He nodded and stood up. He returned to the cave for his Battle Rifle, then began to Wander around in search of a vehicle or any non-hostile presence.*

*nearby was a world eaters assault bike. it had been forgotten when it's rider was killed by a berzerker of the Blood Angels, who worship a much more violent and bloody sect of the flood called the khornate. white scars have them too, but they are tame compared to the blood angels.

*nearby on the beach, the death guard loyalists, crippled by the sudden betrayal of the ultramarines, were regathering their strength to take the Uplift Nature Reserve, which was being used by the UNSC to fight back against the invading legiones astartes. the death guard had been informed by a thousand sons scout that a xenos gene-warrior had siezed an attack bike.*

*He mounted the vehicle, and waited for his HID to decipher the Sangheili text on the display, before driving off.*
