As a Republican furry, I respect your opinion but have to suspend my disbelief. Trump legally cannot make the country an Autocracy. Under US Law, you can only serve 2 4 year terms as president. That's 8 years of someone's life that is spent as President of the United States. The 10 Amendments are legally protected, and make the basis of the Constitution of the United States. Saying that Trump will make the country an Autocracy, in my mind, is equal to shitting on a fire. Just...why?
In addition, even if he tried to make the country an Autocracy, and tried not to let others become president, he would likely be vetoed by Congress, the Legislative and Judicial Branches would likely stop it before it happened, and they'd likely look to impeach Trump if he were to do so. Besides, Trump's been a business man for basically his whole life. Yes, he went bankrupt thrice, but he's learned each time after. He knows what he's doing. The only problem is Ego. Ego is in all of us, and it's sadly unavoidable. But we can all take steps to prevent it from consuming us. This includes Trump.
This has been my TED talk.
