New Story - For any dummies, James is Traveler, but repeating Traveler was getting annoying.

Suddenly the Great Oracle woke up from their deep slumber with eyes wide open, they didn't even waste a second and disappeared into a cloud of smoke.
Oracle: Master.

James was sleeping in his bed beside his wife, he slightly opened his eyes and saw Oracle right in his face.
James: AHH! WHAT THE F**K! *he recollected himself* What are you doing here, at this hour?! *He whispered*

Oracle: I had a vision, about your student

James was confused, he got up and went to the closet. He got dressed and got back out.
James: *rubbing his eye* What about my student…

Oracle: He's in a dangerous situation.

That's when James got worried. He searched for his student's life force, he did find it, but it was strange… He didn't waste more time and teleported instantly to him.

He appeared in a dark alley, blood on the floor leading to a figure down the alley.
James: Elias? *He approached the figure slowly*

The figure turned around, it was Elias, with a black and yellow sword in his hand, blood all over him. His eyes staring deep into James, empty with a hint of a small light.
Elias: you huh. My ‘master’

James: Are you alright? *He said approaching him with his hand*

Elias swung his sword, James quickly retreated his hand.
Elias: Since when did you start caring about me? Heh. You didn't even care enough to attend your old master's funeral.

James: What? What are you talking about?

Elias chuckled, he kicked away a corpse.
Elias: Just know. That you left me, you were supposed to teach me. Sure I appreciate the old man's struggles, but you were completely useless to me.

…

Elias: All my life I suffered… failed… I thought you would have helped me.
*He shrugged*
Elias: I guess not

James looked worried, he didn't know his master died, or what happened in Elias' past.
James: You can tell me everything, you d-

James' face was slashed, specifically his cheek.
James backed away, holding his cheek.
Elias: You're no longer my master. I'll prove it.
*Elias seemed annoyed*
Elias: Urgh, that voice again…

James: *approached cautiously* Please, tell me what happened-

Elias: SHUT UP. BOTH OF YOU.

James backed away, he felt that something wasn't right with Elias.
Elias charged at him, James quickly jumped away back into the streets, they were covered in blood, destruction and fire.

Here is where the fight finally starts…
James: Please, tell me what happened!
*He summons a sword*
Elias: Like you would care!

Elias and James rushed to each other, clashing their swords, Elias proceeded with attacks, James blocked and dodged, then responded with a swift slash. Then both went offensive. James easily overpowered Elias' first attack, but that was just a distraction, Elias responded with a powerful penetrating attack, hitting James' shoulder.
Both backed away.

James: Fighting me won't make things better!
Elias: *covering part of his face* You can't understand my pain.
James: Then help me understand!

They clashed again, Elias attacking with powerful slashes, while James focused on dodging.
After the barrage of attacks, he responded with his own.
The first attack was deflected, the second was a clash of their swords and the last hit Elias, a weak blunt attack, but stunning him a bit.
Both backed away again.

James: This doesn't seem to be working. Talking more won't stop him. It's better to conserve energy.
Elias: Watching my mother die while I just stood there, helpless… Did you have to go through that?

They clashed once more. James attacked with weak attacks, which didn't help much. Elias easily won the clashes. Elias then continued with powerful slashes, James, only being able to deflect one, tanked most of them.
Both backed away.

James: Alright. Time to end this.
*His sword disappeared*
Elias: Surrendering already?
*James' hair turned light purple, a white sword appearing in his hand, His Sword.
James prepared a power energy blast. Elias tried to deflect it, but it went right through his defenses, hitting him entirely, dealing maximum damage and making him stagger.
With Elias unable to fight back, and with his defenses lowered, James went all out.
He first attacked him with a combo of slashes and pierces, followed by multiple upslashes and downslashes, finishing with a powerful penetrating attack, hitting Elias in the abdomen, sending him backwards, and ending the fight.

Elias slid across the floor, coming to a stop. He tried to get up, but fell on his knee.
James approached Elias and kneeled down to him.
He started talking to him, but Elias was hearing something else.

Elias’ Mother?: What's wrong dear? You aren't failing me again, are you?

Honokenshi?: You are a great student, but not good enough.

Elias: SHUT UP!!! *he yelled*
Elias' Mother?: Come on dear… tell me what you desire… *she gave him a warm smile while holding his chin*

Elias: I-I…. I want to destroy this damned city… I want… I-I want to kill that man that left me… I want r-revenge…

Elias: I don't want to be alone… I don't want to deal with Gods anymore…

Honokenshi?: *placing his hand on Elias’ shoulder* Then listen to her voice…

James: Please tell me, what's wrong?

Elias: . . .

Suddenly, a powerful shockwave pushed James away, followed by an almost electric looking energy, the energy pushed through him, stripping away his divine energy, reverting him back to his base form and turning his hair grey again. An electric golden mist surrounded the area.

A figure rose from the dust. A dark figure with golden strokes on his skin, falling from his eyes, hair, his fingertips sharpened…
This was no longer Elias… This was the Dark Twilight.

The sky turned dark, with an ever so present golden glow on the horizon.
Darkness formed in the Dark Twilight's hand, morphing into a blade, followed by gold strokes.
The same darkness formed around him, creating more humanoid figures; they also received swords.

James: Ugh, I can't use my powers… *he said while trying to form a ball of light in his hand*
Most of my energy is also gone… I can barely use enough to teleport…

Dark Twilight: *opens his eyes, they glow yellow* Perish.
Seems like the fight is starting again.
All the minions created by the Dark Twilight get into fighting stances.
James thinks: It's best if I focus on defense. He was already strong before whatever f**kery this is.

All of the minions charge at him.
James, having limited speed and energy, can only block so many attacks.
The first few minions coming at him were blocked and dodged, but the ones coming after, since he wasn't prepared, really hit him hard. After the attacks of the minions, the Dark Twilight came charging at James, his sword grew larger and he swung it right into James’ ribs. James, who was still recovering from the previous unopposed attacks, got caught without his defenses up. The hit was so powerful it immediately staggered him, pushing him back.

From his perspective everything seemed blurry, he couldn't move much and he had a strong headache, not to mention a few ribs broken.

Suddenly he was attacked completely defenseless: slashes, punches, even some energy blasts from the Dark Twilight. Bro felt like that one scene from jjk.
He suffered great damage.
He recollected himself and teleported back.

James: *holding his head* This isn't gonna work. Even if I use my techniques, it'll be hard.
Suddenly he heard a voice.
“Heya~” who was it? The Oracle.
“Seems like you need some help…~ survive a little longer and I'll help you~”
James: What?!
He was mad. But he went with it anyway. He used his Awakening Technique to gain speed and energy, at least he can counter most of the attacks coming at him.

They all clashed. The first few minions were blocked and countered, with the next he decided to go more offensive, risking a few times with close attacks.
He did suffer one or two unopposed attacks, but he was still fine.
He clashed against the Dark Twilight, most of his attacks and defensive maneuvers failed, and the few attacks that landed dealt minimal damage.
He backed off.

James: Alright! I survived! Now f**king help me!
“Alrighty, I'll make you skip the annoying part, just this once.”
James: of what??
“A little thing~ don't worry, you'll gain knowledge about attacks and moves once you manifest~”
They, from afar, raised their hand towards James.
James felt different, and then suddenly, with a bright and quick flash of light…
James was now covered in blistering white robes, similar to the ones of an ancient traveler.
He had a white also had a white hat, and in his hand a sword of light formed.

Suddenly the tides seem to have turned.
Not wasting any time, gained the knowledge Oracle talked about, he charged at the minions.
He countered all their attacks, mostly with powerful upslashes.
Some did hit, but it was ineffective, while he also staggered most of them.
He rushed at the Dark Twilight, on strength they were almost equal, James attacked with a combo of wide slashes, most hit but he was also hit back. The Dark Twilight responded with a powerful punch which James barely dodged.
They jumped back.

The Dark Twilight changed his strategy to defensive, not sure that helps. The minions got stronger.

James charged at the minions, one tried to puncture him, but he effectively deflected and responded with a swift cut, separating the minions head in two hemispheres, then the minions disappeared into a dark cloud.
The other minions were countered and some even killed.
James ignored the Dark Twilight since he was on the defenses.

The Dark Twilight spawned more minions, the previous ones that survived got even stronger.
James: Alright. No more games.

He rushed through the minions, slashing, punching, piercing, he countered all the attacks. The Dark Twilight rushed at him, trying to attack him, but James dodged and countered.
He then followed with a barrage of attacks that mostly hit, some were deflected, the Dark Twilight was losing ground.
The Dark Twilight tried to attack, but he was deflected, that deflect staggered him, taking all the defenses away.
Unopposed, James approached with his final attack, Moon-Splitting Strike, while also asking Oracle if Elias could be saved, sadly the answer was no.
Cleared that out of his mind, holding his sword behind his back, he rushed at him.
Lifting his sword, he attacked with a powerful, glowy, downslash, which, after some cinematographic seconds, seperated the Dark Twilight into two halves, from head to toes, wind separating into two directions.

The remaining minions dissolved, the electric golden mist around the area dissipated.
The city was left destroyed.
The fight has ended once more.

James stared down at the body, slowly dissolving into a black mist. His clothes reverted back to normal, the white sword disappeared.
James: *heavy breathing*
Oracle: *approaching from behind* You did what you had to do.

James: … I can't feel my divine energy. He stripped it away.
Oracle: Yeah… don't worry~ it'll come back eventually~
James: Shut up… please.

It’s nice to see more of Oracle
