:( | One of my fish died a preventable and sad death. I was feeding my fish before bed, and he must have jumped out of the tank in excitment(as they usually do, though they never usually exit the tank, just the water). Anyway, the poor thing suffocated. I buried him inthe backyard. He didnt have to die. Rest in peace, fish. | image tagged in bbee1949 ann temp 2 | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

Oh how does a gleeful moment turn sad. Poor thing. Was it that fast?

Yeah… the jump out of the water a lot, just almost never the tank itself

Maybe you could build some kind of retrieval system? also, afaik, fishes can look dead but get to moving around when they get back in the water. Did you try putting him again in water befor burying him or...?

He was dry by the time we found him. And i did make a retrieval system afterwards. Just so when jumping they would hit something solid and fall back in.

Ok. Yeah, that seems pretty intuitive, like a barrier to avoid that. Still, sad. Idk how to say it in english, but te doy mi pésame

What language is that (so i can put it through google translate)

Spanish, but it's like an expression. It's like "My condolences" but kind of deeper. My condolences is "I feel sad for you", el pésame started as kind of an offer to help carry the coffin, but it evolved to some sort of "If I can help, tell me"
