The people shaping the right narrative wont meet in the middle because it would ruin their story; they scream about how centrists like Clinton/Biden/Harris are leftist radicals who want to steal your paycheck and turn your kids trans. They do this in order to make the increasingly deranged conspiracy theory touting candidates they run look more reasonable, atleast to people who dont think about it too hard. They can't walk that back without looking like complete fools and they know it. Their strategy has worked alarmingly well, but they are also trapped by the absurdity of it.
If you're talking about voters, I think the people still voting right at this point will mostly keep voting right no matter what. It's hard to imagine something a Trump type candidate could do to change peoples minds that he hasn't already done.
I think the dems are gonna keep running centrists for the forseeable future, so yes, we are still gonna offer to meet in the middle. I think they might get better turnout if they did run a Sanders type for president, but I'm no political strategist, maybe I'm wrong.
