Thx. Like you have me with a sword in each hand, ear to ear murder grin, laughing and boasting. Like full chest open, swords to each side "Ha ha ha, I'd defend myself, but you seems like it isn't necessary! Yar har har"
Yeah, it's really fun acting like a boastful immature capitan. I base my whole personality in that character in a quote from an mtg card, as only the weak have a need for fortresses. I'm all the fortress I need.
MTG has a truckload of great quotes. Like the one in "ramses assassin lord" (Why bother butchering a whole army when a single throat slit can do the same job sounds like it's smth straight out of Sun Tzu) or the text in "Fact or Fiction" (Just try to act like you know what's important). I have a few "mtg quotes" of my own, from my custom cards.
I've done olimpic sword for... let me count... EIGHT YEARS (I'm just surprised, not screaming at you) and I love being able to use the edge of my sword. That's why I fell in love with the longsword from the first moment I held one.
nah ngl yea using the edge must feel so nice but GOD olympic sword is better in terms of freeness ( just hit , job well done) and also i dont want to feel what its like to get hit in the arm by the edge at full speed
Once I gave someone a testicular torsion bc I a fondoed (Idk how you say in in english, like going full foward) and hit his balls and god. So like, sword isn't painless either.
I mostly do softcombat, so the weapons tend to be covered with rubber, foam or smth like that. I use pool noodles.
i think fondoed is said "flèche" in french. I already got hit like that but in the part of the leg that is covered with socks only , i was unable to walk for over 10 minutes , and i also got hit in da bolls too but that is another story cause its somehow a common hit
I just applied english verb conjugations to the spanish term. In spanish it "a fondo"
And I'm lucky, I've never gotten hit in the balls. Maybe bc I'm also accustomed to karate, and I keep jumping when I'm on guard, so I just lunge backwards ans jump foward again. Just as I do in softcombat. I keep my sword in front of me and wait for an opening.
I... genuinely don't know. Like rn I'm on my chromebook, but in mobile the memechat button still exists. Still, whenever you want to talk abt fencing comment on any of my previous announcements and we can talk in the answers.
nah, we can keep talking. Like genuinely, getting hit in the sock part is shit. And the little bit that isn't even covered by the sock... oof. That's partly why I switched over to softcombat.
yea i can understand why , the worse also is when you get a burn all over your arm and that it feels like needles , thankfully it aint long but gawd it aint fun
nah, it's mostly that I'm a jumpy bitch =P
The problem is that I can't throw myself to one side to avoid a chest attack (another reason I love softcombat)
in spanish that's mosquetero. In english I think it's musqueteer. And yeah, my softcombat setup is pirate inspired. I'm from the canary islands, where there was a lot of piracy and corsairs, so I kind of like the aesthetic. everyone talks abt pirate in the caribbean, but people like amaro pargo are ignored.
Going back home tomorow. 9 hours ride until i can fall on MY bed. 9 hours ride til i can introduce my new guitar to my amp. This was a W birthday ( mostly cause i got the guitar the same week and not 1 month and a half later )
