Does that sound a little simplistic to you? It does to me. All of our country's food production already involves large amounts of immigrant labor, legal and illegal. Yes, I think it would be a lot better to have that labor coming from people who have the legal right to work in this country (and all the workplace protections that should bring with it).
However, the process of shifting large parts of that production to a more expensive basis will double or triple the price of many staple foods, and probably halt some production altogether, at least in the near term. Slogans and rallies won't solve the problem. I very much want a government that is not being run like a reality TV show. Trump is no more qualified to run this country and sway its policy tha a random collection of Kardashians.
