Tbh the only time I build pretty is either I live in it or are around it alot. Other than that I'm much the same

It's pretty much right next to my base so even if I went afk in there I'd still get resources from it

I just think it'd be better if I'm closer which is why I made a shelter

Yeah I usally find a random spot and dig straight down around 20 blocks after reaching stone. I sometimes find a vein

Has anything bad happened when you do that?

Dig the hole you not standing on down a few blocks. Then follow. That way if you jit something you don't fall down
