Wow! I'm also unfamiliar with the film or series this depiction of the character is based on, but everyone knows Jack Frost from folklore and various other stories. I'll go out on a limb and guess this is supposed to be a young Jack Frost when he was just getting started, and I love the energy here! The first aspect of the picture that caught my eye was the backdrop. Who said monochromatic visuals couldn't be striking? The power at play here and the different elements coming together, yet remaining visually distinct, form one of the most interesting backdrops I've seen from this amazing artist. I'd love to know how many shades of blue were used in this work and how many different pencils she went through here. Although, given the character, I know it's meant to evoke coldness and ice and/or frost, but the smoothness and motion of it (which I'm always astounded by seeing her consistently pull off, especially in the still images that she draws) reminds me, personally, of ocean waves as well. That's not meant to take away from the artist's intent, though, because I can still clearly see and understand everything that's going on. As far as the character himself, his passion and energy is expertly conveyed through his confident expression and pose, as if he's about to embark on a great adventure or, at the very least, perform an impressive feat. Love the texturing and detail work on his staff and clothing. This is definitely a modern-day adaptation of the character, as seen not only through his youth, but also his manner of dress, but even when placed in bed head, a sweatshirt and trousers, there's no mistaking this character's purpose and abilities, as conveyed through his colour scheme and the masterfully done frostlike graphic lining parts of the jacket. As always, another excellent addition to the ever-expanding catalogue of who I am prouder every day to be able to call my beautiful, talented darling young lady.
