This word seems to be the sticking point. It is apparently not mentioned in the Slaking story that specifies “women.” The AI translated it to “girl.” The claim that some people are making is that the word is too ambiguous, so it likely means girl, otherwise it would have also been used in the Slaking story. Apparently this word could go either way too, it could mean anything between “girl” and “young women.”

The info:

Some dude leaked a bunch of stuff from Gamefreak, the leak is now dubbed “the teraleak” due to how much was leaked. In the leak there are a bunch of seemingly scrapped lore stories.

One of the lore stories is about a Typhlosion who groomed a girl and had a child with her.

The stories all appear to be in the format of standard folklore (which as you know is never pretty in of itself, look at ancient Greece’s bullshit). Gamefreak tends to take existing yokai folklore stories and substitutes Pokémon in them, which is how you get info like “Froslass will lure people out of their house to freeze them” and “hypno will make children fall asleep and kidnap them.” Typhlosion got the most attention because theirs specifically mentions “girl.” There is a slaking one where something similar happens but the term “woman” is used. All stories appear to be written by the same person and there is no confirmation that these stories are actually part of the leaks or are fake and made their way in as far as I know.

The typhlosion portion is receiving a lot of attention because not only do people not want another “Pokemon that’s weird to have as a favorite” because of past experiences like Vaporeon, Gardevoir, and Lopunny, but also because typhlosion is a starter Pokemon, so it’s being blown way out of proportion. Believe it or not, the employee who supposedly wrote it also got doxxed again after the leak, so their life might be ruined. At worst, it’s a scrapped folk-story, meaning it has little more value than a fanfic but weird it was written by someone in the company themselves, and at best, is either completely fake or the translation is completely messed up and it’s supposed to be a positive story.

either way they cooked

Most of the damage is already done, which is weird that the rest of the stories somehow escaped without too much damage.

Worst part is Typhlosion isn’t the only one but it’s the outlier for being the longest and the ai translation using “girl”:

A Vigoroth evolved into slaking and rapes a woman, who then had a slaking child that’s killed by her friends while she’s out so she commits suicide.

Usurang/Rapidash share a similar story where one hunter asks them to become their wife because they originally wanted their pelt but couldn’t kill them because they talked to them. Another Hunter kills an Usurang/Rapidash without hesitation, but is accidentally killed by the first hunter and Rapidash/Usurang because they think he’s another ururang/rapidash. (I haven’t read the Ursurang variation)

Lapras/Octillary share a story where a fisherman finds them on the beach, and mates with them several times (different days). The one difference Octillary has is the fisherman throws the Octillary back into the ocean when they’re done. Eventually the fisherman has a vision where the Pokémon wants them to raise the child and it would be left on the beach for them to care for, and sure enough when the man returned the next day, they found a child on the beach. I’m pretty sure that Octillary’s story states that Octillary disappears after the child is collected, I think the Lapras version states that Lapras isn’t seen at all when the child is collected. It’s unclear whether the child is a human or Pokémon.

why are they even making these up anyway☠☠

Either training to write dex entrees or come up with ideas for lore or using yokai stories as templates that they edit to be a lot more tame later (like I already mentioned). For all we know these are all fake. Not to mention, these were initially ideas for Diamond/Pearl/Platinum and Heart Gold/Soul Silver, which came out almost 20 years ago, which if leaked then, it wouldn’t have turned into the drama it is right now. Either way, it’s not cannon cause it’s scrapped, nor does it represent the Pokémon species as it only mentions 1 from each species.

New info on the typhlosion story came out today that looked like it would let Typhlosion off the hook. It turns out someone reported a translation error with the AI. A lot of people thought this was a huge error and began celebrating that typhlosion is okay. Unfortunately it’s a little too soon, turns out this Roltas dude who tried to put a positive spin on the story might also be wrong, nor did they address the actual source of the allegations. So right now, half the people who learned are celebrating that “typhlosion’s free” and the other half are saying “this changes literally nothing, the allegations are still there and haven’t been addressed.” The issue seems to be with the word I just mentioned in the first comment.

This is a list of all of Roltas’s tweets that were perceived to be the “end of the typhlosion allegations.” Everything right now looks like it’s going to head into the debate phase while people try to figure out what the real translation is supposed to be.

internet drama am I right

Currently the general consensus is “whoever translated this really f**ked up, it’s just a ‘Beauty and the Beast’ situation.” So it looks like Typhlosion might actually be let off the hook. As for the rest of them… good luck. Hopefully they’re all mistranslated.
