Those are fun to stare into. They look like maps. So fascinating, huh? And look how bland the outside is. Never judge a rock by its exterior.

Rocks, minerals, gemstones; I think I could stare at them all day and be blissfully happy--which is really sayin' somethin'.

The Galaxy Opal is the world's largest polished opal. It's ~ 3,749 carats. I'm pretty sure I posted it shortly after Dave set up this stream. But I wish I could post it again. It's one of my favorites. It's like an entire galaxy in there. They named it perfectly.

I just did some research. I definitely have missed out on some great images. The opal is about five by four inches big. All that galaxy in such a small space. I wonder what it looks like up closer
