What Abt combined arms regiments

Wait, combined arms don't exists. They stop being a thing after the hours heresy in order to prevent another. So a infantry regiment is strictly infantry and an armoured regiment is strictly tanks.

Intro:
In the 41 millenia battle are fought with the imperial. rare is the sight of the emporers angels of death. So one ma wonder how many men and women fight and die on the frontlines. So my fellow in the adeptus minoturom I shall be estimate for you how many guardmsen are currently in the cadian regiments.

Assumptions:
1. all regiements will be full strength
2. all regiments shall have the same orginistation
3. atttaches will not be counted (commisars auxilia ect)

TL;DR

977 per regiment, 4002 known regiments

977 x 4002
= 3909954

therefore there is about 4 million cadian infantry guardsmen in active service

if this number seems small remeber there are other regiments. Too name a few, catachan, kreig, modian, valhallan, ect.

Regiments:
there are 4002 knowm cadian regiments. and as 180th regiment as an example, it will be assumed each is made from 3 companies.

Command:
From the commander of a regiment down too the platoon, each command squad remains the same. the officer and 4 veterans too act as bodyguards and advisors. We shall not include the non combatants present at higher orginistations (e.g. the minustroium scribes attached the the regimental command squad)

total: 324 x 3 + 5 = 977

Company:
a compay is made from 2-6 platoons. In order too give each company proper bulk (and account for an underestimation of only 3 companies in a regiment when there are some know too have 10) it will be assumed that each company has 6 platoons

PPlatoon:
Whiteshild are the next generation of guardsmen getting their first combat experice. They act as a reserve force and only see action in the most dire of curcumstance

The purpose of this platoon it to provide extra heavy weapon squads to other platoons as need be. In order to bolster the firepower in the line. Yet as it's own this platoon is a deadly force.

Platoon:
We will assume a company is made from 3 light infantry platoons, 2 whitesild platoons, and 1 heavy weapons platoon. the chimera opperators and comissars present will not be part of the calculations.

total: total: 71 x 4 + 35 + 5 = 324

Platoon:
as the only difference between a light infantry platoon and a normal infantry platoon is the presence of a chimera (which is cosidered an attached unit) the light infantry platoon will be used. It provied enough boots on the ground too holds its own and a varitey off fire power too handle any threat.

total: 71
