The left holds all the institutional power. They do not need their appointees, I mean, "candidates," to be competent or likeable. They don't even need them to legitimately win the elections. They can arrest and assassinate their political opponents and falsify as many ballots as they want, and the media that they control is either going to deny it, or say "and that's a good thing."
