I believe there are only two sexes. I also believe you should accept the sex you are born with instead of trying to change your sex. But I don't believe calling transgender people liars or phonies will help them or help your cause.
If someone took people hostage, threatening to kill the hostages unless their demands were met, and you were the hostage negotiator, I sincerely hope you would not treat the hostage-taker as lying, joking, or kidding around, because if that hostage-taker has a gun, that hostage-taker could prove you wrong in a split second.
