ive been hearing that in colorado politicians want to have age verification on an OS level. this means windows, linux, mac, bsd all have to comply. Which is the same bullshit nonsense everyone in power across the political spectrum wants. protect kids? nope its just mass profiling. How the F**K does linux made by a small team comply? They cant. They will be the only OS without age verification slop. Now im a windows fanboy sure and im okay with disabling all the telemetry but just this one time i might use linux. but it shows that politicians are clearly in touch with NOT operating systems and dont know how it works. I could just run an old version of linux or freebsd and never have to age verify even if they do comply because its my os. i downloaded it. How do you even implement this in a simple OS like a terminal or basic ui one? you cant.
In shorter terms this means every operating system may be forced to require the internet and face scans or you wont be allowed to use it and your access to the system will be limited. maybe even linux.
This isnt the fault of any particular political party this is all across.
