If homeschooling and/or private schooling become commonplace enough, some municipalities could completely get rid of their public school systems. Then they could spend more time, money and resources on other things, such as improving infrastructure, buying new equipment for first responders, sprucing up local parks, and adding more books and materials to local libraries. Or they could cut property tax rates by as much as 60-70%, encouraging more residents and businesses to move in. Probably most municipalities that got rid of their public school systems would do a mix of both.
