If you seriously, honestly think doing dishes for the woman who brought you into this world is "cruel and unusual punishment", you are a whiny, spoiled brat.
We as a nation are too worried about whether punishments are "cruel and unusual" than what we should be concerned about, which is whether or not those punishments deter future infractions. If we lowered the age of the death penalty from 18 to 13, we wouldn't be having all these terrible school shootings all the time.
